Re: If you were going to audition for WSOP next Tuesday don\'t bother
Let's see, they are FORCING a minimum of ten from each of their vegas properties to sign up for the world series. Yup. Forcing. And they are forcing all their poker dealers to get "certified." Presumably they are doing this because they think they won't have enough dealers after last year's multi-stepped fiasco. But they can force their harrahs employees to the rio if things get screwed. Again.
Seems no one considered that their regular cardrooms will be much busier than usual, but will be a minimum of ten employees short staffed. These reasons make it perfectly logical to send you home packing. At least according to the typical "logic" of disneyland, err, vegas corporate executives. Oh yeah, they were talking about doing 300 tables this year instead of 200. Won't need extra dealers for that. Nope. If this year is any LESS of a disaster than last year I will be quite surprised. The one thing you can be certain of is that I won't be working the wsop this year or any others in the foreseeable future. Al |

[/ QUOTE ] Actually the version I have been hearing is that they were going to hire dealers to staff the local rooms -- as in "gee Mr. Smith you haven't passed our audition to deal the WSOP, but we would like to offer you a temporary position dealing at one of our local cardrooms were we don't care whether you can actually deal well or not." |

I heard that there won't be any dealers for the first round and that they will have players at each table deal.

I know everyone enjoys putting down Harrah's and I certainly understand, but they are not forcing 10 dealers from each property to deal the WSOP. At least not yet.

[/ QUOTE ] I heard they were trying to contract with Nevada prison system to bring minimum security inmates in to deal . . the hold up is that they would actually be legally required by the 8th Amendment to treat the prisoners better than they treat their dealers. |
