Default unclear?

Pokerroom .5/1, 5-handed. I'm in the SB holding 10 10 and Villain has only been sitting in a couple rounds and hasn't so far done anything to attract my attention.

Pre-flop it's folded to me, I raise, Villain calls.

Flop: K K 2 rainbow

Hero bets, Villain raises, Hero 3 bets ..

.. with the intention of folding to a flop call turn raise and strongly tempted to call down a flop 4-bet. Is OK?

I dont know if i would have 3bet the flop here.
I'd wait for the river and if the river is below your T i might bet again otherwise i'd call down.

3betting the flop is pretty bad. he'll either fold his A2 or 55 or he will punish you (probably on the turn) with a K.

i would call and re-evaluate the turn.

Does this mean we donk turn cards less than 10 but not a 2?

If so, I think I like it, but I can definitely agree that 3-betting this flop is probably not the best line to take.

What do we do if a J hits? An A?

Blind wars often feature wanton penis waving, so I'm not too thrilled with many lines that involve folding as the pot starts to get large.

Thanks for the responses. So I can be clear about the basic principles:

Tyler, one of my concerns in the hand was not to give a hand like A2 any free cards. Is it that the pot is not big enough to worry about this?

Wookie, you are saying that you don't like the 3-bet because inflating the pot here makes it too difficult to fold to further aggression?

He's drawing to 3 outs (let's disregard the 2's as you have the remaining T's also. So that "equals out"). The more you raise, the less of a mistake he makes by calling. A2 is not a hand you should worry about.

Something tells me that this isn't working ... The problem is that, typically, when another 2 comes, a T does not come on the same card.

A2 is drawing to 5 outs (slightly less, because we have a redraw, of course, but not reduced by 2 outs; however, he also has a runner-runner draw to quad K's). To see that stove the equity of A2 vs TT on that board and then compare that equity to the equity of a pure 5-outer and the equity of a pure 3-outer.

I'm probably calling down after the flop raise. I'm getting to the showdown, and I don't think any card really seems particularly scary that would make me want to fold -- possibly a 2 only.
