Villain is a 50/14/.66. The last hand he called me down with middle pair, on the flop he called two cold with one in facing three, MHIG.

Re: 88 vs Passive Three Bettor
I'd much rather fold the flop than bet it after he 3-bets preflop and checks it. I think checking through might even be -EV since you could stand to lose a lot if you turn an 8.

Re: 88 vs Passive Three Bettor
betting the flop is really bad. you are ahead 0% of the time and I don't think you're pushing this variety of donk off of anything. I think checking behind > folding though because I see villains taking this line with hands like QK TT QQ which will pay us off if we connect. just don't fall in love with your set if you get checkraised.

Dont put any more money in that pot after that flop. You loose, next hand!

Re: 88 vs Passive Three Bettor
It's so easy to narrow down someones holdings after the river, what'd he have? 7s, 9s, JQs. but on the flop, I'd say your only better than about 5% of his hand range, so I'd say c/b

Re: 88 vs Passive Three Bettor
I would check/fold flop 100% of the times. Call me Mr.Weak but Iīm not that excited after the flop.
Playing non-improvable hands OOP against a likely better hand is not my cup of tea. Edit: As usual I canīt read a post correctly. I donīt put in another bet in this pot.A check like this probably means that he is afraid of something. But he is beating 88 and since he is a no-folder we canīt bet him out so checking all the way seems best. |

Re: 88 vs Passive Three Bettor
grunch...
I think I take a stab here on flop just as you did. Although I doubt that is even worth it. Only hand that beats us that may fold is 99, and I'm not sure if villain even 3-bets 99 in this spot. As played, the flop prayer is the last money I put in the pot. check behind turn, fold river if bet to. |
