Milo's a little bitch. If he's not careful, Doyle's gonna tap Nadia's ass when he's done fellating Jack.

[ QUOTE ] maybe there is hope for next season... 24 getting panned [/ QUOTE ] You have to register to read that. What does it say? [/ QUOTE ] Go to http://www.bugmenot.com/view/www.latimes.com to find a password. Quotes from the article: [ QUOTE ] After peaking in the ratings last year, Fox's thriller "24" has been getting dumped on by seemingly everyone in this, its sixth season. Critics and fans alike are aiming tomatoes at the stage, carping about the soapy and repetitive plotlines that unspool Jack's unlikely familial past, tiresome romantic triangles in the security bureaucracy and endless bickering among Oval Office advisors. Last week, with a fresh episode designed to lay the groundwork for what the creators promise will be a typically suspenseful finale next month, "24's" ratings in the key young-adult category swooned to their lowest level in more than three years, with a total audience of just 10.4 million, according to figures from Nielsen Media Research. More than one-third of viewers have bailed since the special four-hour season premiere that aired over two consecutive nights back in January. [/ QUOTE ] Also, the average age of viewers is going up (fewer young people are watching the show). The writers and producers notice all of that and are planning changes (which are not stated in the article). |

Also, was this episode in HD for everyone? The SF affiliate only showed the first 12 minutes in HD before switching to SD.

maybe there is hope for next season... 24 getting panned [/ QUOTE ] According to the portions quoted in another post, that articl does not mention any planned changes, but merely notes that the show is being criticized and doing worse in the ratings. None of that amounts to reason for hope. |

[ QUOTE ]
maybe there is hope for next season... 24 getting panned [/ QUOTE ] A horribly, written, stupid article. How can they even write this: [ QUOTE ] But Gordon said he and his writing staff were wondering if something else was afoot besides the normal cycles of storytelling and network scheduling. Could it be that the vague but gnawing post-9/11 fears that helped turn "24" into a hit are ebbing — the nightmares that envisioned great cities laid low by chemical weapons spilled into the water supply, say, or suitcase nukes wielded by shadowy assailants? "It's something we talked about at the beginning of the season," Gordon said. "9/11 is becoming, quietly, a memory; the memory is starting to fade…. I do think that people are looking at the world differently, with less fear." If so, that's probably good for America. And alas, that's probably bad for "24." [/ QUOTE ] That's retarded. 24 is falling in the ratings because for the last ~15 weeks, with very few exceptions, it has been horrible, horrible, horrible story-telling in nearly every way. To explain the ratings drop, they could certainly throw in the American Idol factor, which they did, and would be well advised to mention the 'Heroes' phenomenon, which they didn't, but this people aren't scared stuff is utter [censored]. 24 sucked this season, there's no massive political/sociological reason for the drop in ratings, nor is it FOX's fault, or a standard "cycle". It's that the show is stupid, too stupid for even television, which is hard to do. So stupid they've made all but the most biased 24-fanboys admit its a waste of time, which is even harder to accomplish. The 24 crew have no one to blame but themselves for the failure of this season and any effort to pass the puck only makes me have to believe that there's no way these people will be able to salvage anything this year or next. |
