KJs UI - How to play the Turn and the possible River ?
SB: Tight Passive after 100+ Hands.
SF: 26,5% PFR: 1,8% Cryptologic 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) Preflop: Hero is MP1 with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 1 folds, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, 1 folds, MP3 calls, 2 folds, SB calls, 1 folds, UTG+1 calls. Flop: (9.00 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, MP3 folds, SB calls, UTG+1 folds. Turn: (5.50 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero... ? How to play the Turn? Should i fire again? The 8 is kind of a stupid Card to fire again, since its highly unlikely that i hold the case 8. Should i just check the turn and check behind if he checks again on the river? Another question: Preflop raise was alright or should i just flat call? The table was kinda loose. 45% seeing the flop. |

Re: KJs UI - How to play the Turn and the possible River ?
I almost always bet here with position. So many people peel ragged flops like this but give it up on the turn or even fold better hands such as ace high. If he calls the turn then I'm usually done if I don't improve on the river.

Bet again. A lot of guys play really loose on paired flops.

Bet. Tight = might fold, and maybe K high is good, and if not, 6 outs.

*grunch*
Preflop raise is standard as per SSHE. I'd be inclined to take the free card on turn, bet the river as long as it's not a spade. |

[/ QUOTE ] And our tight-passive villain is supposed to think ... what? "Hmmm, he raised pf, so let's say he has AA. Then he bets the paired flop - which makes sense - and then, when he just improved to a FH and only loses to the case 8, he checks. Hemhem..." |

And one other thing...
[ QUOTE ] Preflop raise is standard as per SSHE. [/ QUOTE ] Is it standard because it's in SSHE or is it in SSHE because it's standard? |

Is it standard because it's in SSHE or is it in SSHE because it's standard? [/ QUOTE ] I'll answer that when my poker education is a bit further along... |

Re: KJs UI - How to play the Turn and the possible River ?
I'm limping along pre-flop, although a raise is fine.
I'm checking the flop. I've got nothing to speak of- except 6 outs to an overpair. Obvious flush draw. Possible trips already there. WB to any pocket pair at the moment and one player still to act behind me. Possible raise from him, possible CR from the first two. Even A high is ahead of us at the moment. I don't think I'm going to try and force out 3 opponents on the flop with that hand. |

Plan, not c-betting that flop is terrible.
