Re: (16) But I have an overpair
I'm playing the same way (maybe betting a bit more on the flop) but I fold to the push. I also play trips about the same way. I could give a crap that he's a losing player. I want to maintain that sexy chip stack in a 16. There's so much damage that you can do later and while you might have the best hand, at best you're a 3:1 favorite and at worst a 9:1 dog (or so). This isn't a great match up for you.
SG: you can make it to the bubble here likely to have a good chip stack which I know you pwn with. The chips you gain here if you win don't put you that far ahead but losing them is quite damaging. |

Re: (16) But I have an overpair
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] 16? I don't know why you would ever fold this. [/ QUOTE ] Hold on now. He made a textbook PF raise and is coming over the top of us on a dry board. Just because it's a 16 doesn't make everyone in the game an idiot... [/ QUOTE ] True, but against an unknown I think it's better to assume they're an idiot until proven otherwise. There are so many people who refuse to believe AK never loses that bet/call is a great line here. I dislike checking only because free cards can be annoying a lot of the time, and if he's in the mood to do something stupid, it might as well be for all of his chips because it'll have to be for all of yours anyway. |

You called when you should have raised, called when you should have folded, bet when you should have checked and called when you should have folded. But that's the only problem I have with it. [/ QUOTE ] I think this is true and pretty funny as well. |

Re: (16) But I have an overpair
I like preflop.
I don't like te size of your bet on the flop. It is inviting a push. I'd bet t200 and probably fold to a push. How is c/c on this flop ? |

Re: (16) But I have an overpair
I'm raising TT preflop in this position everytime. Is this a leak?
I've follow the general strategy play tight in the first levels and then be aggressive as blinds move up. How far to people take this? Not raising with TT in this spot just seems wrong. UTG maybe I limp. But not 3rd position after two folds. Are people limping with JJ? |

Re: (16) But I have an overpair
I def raise pre-flop. I would raise it UTG, so I def raise it after two players fold.
As played, this situation sucks balls. You don't know if you're against overpair or overcards. JJ, QQ, KK, AA all would play like this. I go with check-fold and find a better spot later. Here I'm not confident I'm ahead often enough. |

Re: (16) But I have an overpair
I think I fold to the 5xbb raise pf
Then you lead out flop and were raised AI. I think you need to fold, not that I could easily do it, but villain did raise pf and flop... |
