Default NL50 - flop peeling AK UI in position

Villain seems typical party uninspiring and bad. can i peel here? I used to play limit and this is uberstandard peeling, but of course deepstack NL is another kettle of fish.

preflop action doesn't make sense

but if he has 45xbb preflop, just 4bet shove preflop

PF - i raise to 3bb (1.5), he minraises me $1 back to 2.5. I considered 4betting but at present i'm not comfortable 4betting less than AA, KK, AKs :S

Can i really overpush shove there when villain has half a stack? seems an aggro overpush thats usually folded although i agree i'm happy flipping for that much.

Against a short stack's range you have the necessary equity to shove this pre-flop. Of course, it is a high variance move, but +EV (against a typical shortie). FWIW, AKo is not really any different than AKs here.

If he folds small PPs some of the time than a shove is definitely the best play here.

The minraise should have been enough of a tell that premiums were even less likely for villain to hold and like 4 2 said, AK = AKs in this spot.
