NM, I see it.

Knicks Target Garnett

Feb 23 - Some league executives suggested yesterday's deal for Steve Francis was part of a risky long-term strategy by Isiah Thomas to trade for Kevin Garnett this summer, reports Newsday.

According to the newspaper, one NBA GM said Thomas sold Knicks owner James Dolan on a strategy to stockpile as many marketable assets as possible to make a play for Garnett, who has grown increasingly restless with the Timberwolves.

"There will be plenty of changes this summer," one team official told the New York Daily News. "Now, there is more to use in trades."

Dwane Casey said yesterday that Kevin Garnett is not on the market, as far as the coach is concerned, despite vague reports nationally speculating otherwise, reports the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "He's not tradable for me," Casey told the newspaper. "It'd be just like saying, 'Is Michael Jordan tradable for Chicago?' Kevin Garnett is not the issue with us right now."

[/ QUOTE ]

God, there's no way this happens.

Why does Insider torture Knicks fans?

Obviously can't happen, but was there a real chance of this?

Is KG Heading To New York?

Feb 22 - Web site RealGM, is reporting that New York and Minnesota are in serious discussions about a deal which would send Kevin Garnett to the Knicks in exchange for Penny Hardaway and Channing Frye.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is the third time I have read Insider say Knicks could get KG, and every time Minnesota says "No way."

It is like Bizzaro Deja Vu world. Didn't Orlando do this a few years ago and were all lined up to get Duncan, McGrady and Grant Hill. Everyone would want to live near Disney World and hang with Shaq and Tiger in Isleworth. Of course, that worked out really well.

So, if they had the perfect situation and cap room to make it happen then, what makes them think that having cap room available for this year's okay free agent crop will be much better?

Maybe this time they will sign one of the 5 best players in all of basketball and he won't get hurt?

Maybe this time they won't knowingly sign one of the 5 best players in all of basketball, and be unable to insure his contract because he has suffered a career threatening injury before being offered the max and he won't get hurt?

Were not going to get KG ... because that woould actually be a good move. Layden screwed this team, but Isiah is making it much worse. I think we have 10 players on this team that are the same person.
