Default Master of Disguise

So me a and my roomates are drinking and there isn't much to do. Of course being the degenerate I am I suggest we go to the casino to play poker. It's 45 minutes away and two out of the three roomates are pikers, however, surprisingly everyone goes for the idea. Luckily one of them wasn't really drinking and could drive. We piled into the car with pabst in nalgene bottles and headed up to the casinos.

We make it to the casino after hilariously horrible white man freestyling during the drive up, and we all get seated fairly quickly. My one roomate is a big red jolly irishman and he is having a blast at the table. He's being drunk and boisterous but the table is enjoying it. The whole table is having a blast until two stern faced security guards roll up. They pull my friend aside and inform him he can no longer play. He is too drunk. No one at our table complained but apparantly someone didn't like what they saw on the cameras. He relents and takes a seat on the sidelines.

I end up moving tables and no more than 15 minutes later the jolly irishman sits down and joins us. Only this time he isn't wearing his cowboy hat. The hat is on my other roomates head who has had enough and decided to hit the rail, not broke (piker).

About 15 minutes later the security crew rolls up to my friend again. They say "didn't we kick you out before". He stammers for a few seconds until they see my other roomate with the hat. Hes a blonde haired blue eyed german. They see the hat and say to my roomate "Oh we're sorry it was the guy with the hat, enjoy your evening". We all have a good laugh and play on into the night.

PS: The jolly irishman was killing the game. he was in full on Mike Caro mad genius style. Playing up his drunkeness but playing like a piker, and it was working to great affect.

I can't believe you don't know what a piker is!

You are soooooo unhip and uncool.

Apparently so am I, since I also had to look it up.

geez, I'm curious about the etymology of this word... somehow I don't think it originated in the south.
