Another Nigerian Steve detail, he had the chip-runner exchange his 850 in 5 dollar chips for a 500 chip and 3 100 chips (along with the extra 5 dollar chips), and then hid the 500 chip behind his other chips

That's easy enough to call him out on.

"Nigerian Steve, I know you have trips with a king kicker, but mine is an ace, so can you please put that $500 chip out in front where we can all see it?"

I know people are stupid, but this is amazing.

These people falling for this, they don't drive themselves to the cardroom do they? Please tell me someone escorts them.

They aren't allowed to freely roam around, are they? Especially behind the wheel of an automoblile, that is a really scary thought.

Another Commerce angle shoot from a different player in a 4-8 limit game (who the floormen banned from the casino about a year ago). This guy was about 6'8" and menacing and had big hands. He would pick up his cards and look at them in his hands in such a way that you couldnt see that he still had cards. The dealer would go around the table and seeing people either call or fold and the dealer wouldnt see any cards on the table in front of this player, so this player would get free looks at many streets. If they even noticed, the other players were hesistant to point out that this guy wasnt calling the bets. (He was huge and menacing, very angry-looking guy...). Anyway, the same night I saw this guy doing this trick was the same night he got into an argument with a floorman and called the floorman a [censored] and a bitch and he got banned from the casino.

Angle by a middle aged Asian woman who plays 40/80 limit. In the middle of a hand she asks if a guy would like to split the pot, which is not allowed. The guy says okay and mucks his hand. The dealer pushes her the pot. She says, "Oh, chopping not allowed." She does not give him half the pot.

[/ QUOTE ]

OMG, thats the worst one I have heard of in ages. How nasty!

PS: Whats with the millions of angle shooting threads lately? Why can't this all be in one thread?

I was playing 3/5 3 weeks ago, and saw him playing 2/3 at another table. This was very late, probably 4am, we were playing 6 handed at the time I believe (much to my delight). He walks over and puts down 200 dollars, saying "I am just going to play one hand and see what happens." The very first hand he plays, I fold UTG, tight guy to my left opens to 25, he calls the 20 more in position and one other player calls in the blinds. Flop comes queen high 2 suited and tight player bets pot, Steve(?) shoves and gets instacalled by KK. Q7 no good. He says nice hand and walks back to his table where he still had a stack and was playing.

FWIW, I find the guy hilarious and he sucks at poker, so I don't mind having him at the table. I don't know what's up with the trolling, but yes, people do fall for his antics because there are a lot of recreational players just wanting to gamble.

I'd also like to add this thread was started purely out of entertainment, not for the education of players re: angle shooting. I would say posters in the thread are correct in stating that these are not sophisticated angles (obviously), which makes it even funnier, to me at least, that people keep falling for them.

Optisizer: I frequently see people who constantly slow games down with unnecessary long decisions, berating dealers, rabbit hunting every hand etc be taken care of by certain floormen. I won't get into why this is, but it should be fairly obvious if you play there long enough.

Here's another one that's not really an angle shoot, just flat out stealing. Playing during the daytime before trying my luck in the daily tourney, I am doing fairly well. I hear vocal groans about a player at a table next to me, but do not really tune in and pay attention. The player in question who they were groaning about comes to our table and sits to my immediate left and posts. This guy is pretty old, and creepy looking TBH. The first hand he gets, he mucks, no commotion. The second hand he gets, he calls and mucks the flop to a regular bet visibly upset. He starts berating the dealer saying "you're the worst dealer I've ever had, how can you deal me a pair and not flop me a third card?!" I immediately start laughing to the dealer's amusement, but he is not rattled and just smiles at the old guy. He starts talking about how a guy on the other table moved in for 300 bucks with AT offsuit, etc etc how people play so bad and can win. We get a dealer change, and his first hand the guy is dealt 7d4d, becomes furious, stands up and folds it face up and says "what the hell am I supposed to do with this? you're the worst dealer in this casino, where do they hire people like you?" and starts looking for another table to change to. The dealer is not pleased, but does not call the floor. The guy ends up staying the entire dealer's down complaining the whole way, and the next dealer sits down, same things are happening. On this guy's blind, UTG raises to 25 and no one calls. As the dealer pushes the pot to him I am looking at the chips in the middle thinking "wtf..I think that pot is a chip short" but the dealer doesn't notice, and I don't say anything because I am not sure. The player who won the pot does notice, and sure enough, the dealer looks at the pot, and then to the old guy who slowly unveiled a 5 dollar chip tucked under his palm and slid it to the winning player. The floor is not called. He changed back to the table he came from 2 hands later after berating the dealer and folding a garbage hand face up, and when he sat down I overheard protests of him coming back, and someone immediately says "if everyone here pitches in 5 dollars to you, will you leave and find another table?"

He didn't accept the offer.

I love a good angle shooting story, so please post them if you have one.
