i fold because the flop check-call looks like a draw which he hit on the turn. id pick a better spot to push...

I bet closer to pot on the flop cuz this board is wet.

I absolutely hate when villains do this to me. He's laying you with 4:1 odds and you have a strong hand though your probably beat. Sucks.

you really think they'd think twice about calling the flop if it was an extra $1 or 2? most of people arent doing math with small pots

I don't know -- this is right on the margin of push or fold. I don't think you need to worry whichever one you chose. Flush draws that short tend to check when it comes in. They've got another street to bet. This could be a lot of things that beat you though.

How did he get short? Buy in short? or get short from a recent beat? Lots of players bluff off the last of their money on a good scare card. I tend to push, just because it ain't that much and I hate their guts.

No I dont think you're getting a fold more often on the flop by making it $5 instead of $4. Because the board is quite drawy It makes it more likely villain could be on a draw. Betting 25% more here makes a call a 25% bigger mistake.
