If she had come in last, there is no way he would of aired it.

Exactly, it was probably the 79th old lady he tried to lucksack into the top 2 places. It was a load of crap, she gets *taught* how to read bluffs and then snaps off 2 bluffs with K high! To be honest the game was a setup.

The "magician" in question is very well known in the UK and has done loads of great feats in the past, such as playing 9 of the top chess players in the world (with many of them being Grandmasters) at once, and beating a majority of them.

[/ QUOTE ]

He used an old simple trick. Believe me he could play 10000 games vs a grandmaster and not win one of them.

Err that's the point it's a trick! He's trying to be a magician not a grandmaster.

Actually, he never claimed she would win. He always said that if she didn't catch cards, winning would be impossible. She got her money in on flop in the last hand with the best of it -- pair of kings against a pair of nines -- and another nine came on the turn.

No, because it's 6 max, and the other players are (presumably) not significantly above average.
Maybe he did this with 10 people and only talked about the one person that came close.

[/ QUOTE ]

It was a six max sit and go, filmed as part of a TV series by Bluff Magazine Europe with their staff commentating and presumably guaranteeing there weren't forty others? The other players were all experienced players, though far from being top flight pros. I'd be astonished if any made their primary income from poker.

Darren Brown is awesome. But he is a magician doing tricks. I don't know anything about this British TV show but I wouldn't be surprised if something like marked cards were involved.

(Do a YouTube search for Darren Brown for clips from his other British TV show. He really is an awesome performer.)

Anthony Holden is reputable enough for us to know that they were not in on it and letting her win.

I think I saw a video of him online. He says that he could challenge in chess 7 of the best players in UK playing the 7 games in the same time even if is'nt a good player at all . He ended something like 2W-3L-2T. he explain the trick at the end.

The fact that people can't figure out the chess trick is pathetic.
