[ QUOTE ]

Anyone thinking it might be related to a neteller/FT/??? inside job?
Why is it always FT?

[/ QUOTE ]

FT seems to gather more hacked accont reports than all others by far.

I can only assume that one or more of the following is true:
#1. FT has an employee working from the inside
#2. FT has a technical security flaw that is more easily exploited than flaws at other sites.
#3. FT had customer data stolen/copied/hacked in the past and some villain is slowly milking them. How old are the passwords on all these hacked accounts?
#4. FT's playerbase has a dramatic tendency (compared to the users of other sites) to dowload keyloggers and trojans.

1,2, or 3 make more sense than #4.

I'm sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident with Full Tilt. This is becoming a serious and disturbing trend, suggesting Full Tilt has widespread issues with incompetence and/or complacency. Most people could understand a few isolated cases, but it appears Full Tilt is fertile grounds for aspiring fraudsters.

I sometimes wonder why FT staff even rear their heads here when results of an 'investigation' are pretty much apparent before it is even initiated. Ultimately the victim is blamed, always left holding the bag. To be sure, players do have a responsibility to take reasonable measures to protect their computers. However, when a site demonstrates they are extremely deficient in thwarting hackers and quite adept in attracting these swindlers, they ought to act with a sense of urgency and make substantial improvements.

One improvement they could easily implement would be in the area of customer relations. Perhaps some modest relief could be offered victimized customers. At least meet customers half way instead of dimissing them with a perfunctory "it's on your end but you're valuable to us."

I guess 'Full Tilt' is an apt description for the mental status of some poor Jimmy at the conclusion of another lackluster "investigation."

there should be a feature where if your account is being used from an IP address other than yours you have to answer a few security questions first (ie your HS mascot, your first grade teacher, etc)

I used to have AVG and my computer was infected by spywares every second month.

[/ QUOTE ]

AVG Anti-Virus makes NO attempt to prevent or heal spyware infections. They have a separate free application for that. So if you are expecting AVG to prevent spyware.........

I rest my case.

If it is a keylogger or trojan, why is only the FT account hacked???

Don't most people have passwords for mulitple poker sites? Bank accounts, etc. ???

If passwords are obtained thru a keylogger, why does the hacker only use them on FT? Why not clean out all the poker accounts?

WHY IS IT ALWAYS FT?

In response to some of the questions about security and logging on.

Here was my response for the forum message FTP Answers 4/2

My list of priorities.

1. Security (Allow user to disable fund transfer)
2. Security (Allow user to specify connection ip address or range)
3. Security (Allow the user to specify a stop loss amount)
4. Security (Personal key files that have to be present on your computer)
5. Security (Keyfob option EVEN IF I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT)
6. Security (In game/Instance Messenger option to contact security to report suspicious play)
7. Security (Country/State/Province block option)
8. I can live with any else but not if my money disappears.

And the reply from FTPDoug answer in FTP Answers 4/17

2. You didn't address the security issues.

- Not true! I addressed them two Answers threads ago, number 5 at http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...Number=9722963

"We actually have a number of security related projects going on and they've all been given a high priority. Some of the first results should be seen in next month's update."

Since that post, "next month's update" has become May or June, but the rest holds true. Many items in big e's post listing the various security upgrades look pretty similar to our projects.

(Me) - I just hope this is implemented soon.

Anybody ever packet sniffed what is moving across the network with FT?

Is it possible that FT's packets are more vulnerable than other sites? It's the only quick brainstorm I can think of that explains why FT would have a higher hack rate (other than an inside job).

And I totally 100% agree that there is NO REASON WHATSOEVER that FTP can't implement the list of security features big e provided. They are all COMPLETELY reasonable.

[censored], even AOL has came out with a "security edition". I'm sure it's probably a piece of crap like every else AOL has, but at least they make an effort.

One piece of advice to all of you that have free antivirus, firewalls, etc...

[/ QUOTE ]

Absolute bollocks. AVG Free is far better than either McAfee or Norton, the expensive alternatives.
