Hmmm...this is interesting. I was looking at home teams against being swept. Last year and this year, there were 378 three or four game series that were played in the AL (give or take some -- I counted quickly). Only 21 times was the home team swept. This is only 5% of the time. There HAS to be +EV in this one way or another. This year, 1 series out of 40 has been swept by a visiting team in the AL. Also, Tampa Bay has not been swept once at home this year or last year....pretty crazy.
