thin turn raise, river bet
Villian was StepsAHEAD he seemed solid, but was playing a ton of tables. I didn't really think he would check a flush draw on the flop, and he didn't seem like the type to check/raise the river with air (and I'm not sure how air could have gotten to the river either). If you were going to value bet the river, is my sizing just too small?

Re: thin turn raise, river bet
Too thin on riv imo... I think he could have AK/KJ/33/JJ/KK.. What hands do you think you can get value out of here? but I think pretty unlikely. I like the turn raise but only w/ intention of checking behind on river.

Re: thin turn raise, river bet
At the time I thought QQ or AJ might not believe me and call me down because of my flop check with two hearts on the board. Of hands that beat me, I think JJ is by far the most likely.
Edit: but the more i think about it, i think river was too thin. |

Re: thin turn raise, river bet
not that good because of the other guy in the pot. i like what youre thinking though, but river is way too thin. you could lead turn/river, but that is also thin.
meh if you WERE going to bet, id prefer if you bet more. like 250 at least. |

Re: thin turn raise, river bet
Usually bet the flop here, but not a bad spot to check behind for deception.
Turn play is okay, but not a great card for it. If I made that play, I would be planning on checking back a lot of rivers. |

Re: thin turn raise, river bet
i don't mind betting this river. it's thin, but i think it's going to work out a good % of the time. however, your bet size is horrible. if i'm betting this river, like jfish said, i bet bigger, to make my hand look less credible and get more value. betting small just does everything wrong

Re: thin turn raise, river bet
Thanks you guys, you are confirming a lot of what I was thinking with the hand. As it was I got check raised all in and folded and felt like an idiot.
