Right, just another example of the current administration stating a reason for the Iraq war and then totally blowing that reason off for another one. nuclear weapons? check. Democracy in Iraq? check. Iraq hand-off once the troops are trained? check. Next?

Apparently republicans don't mind being lied to. I do though.

To be perfectly fair, Canada did spend $488 billion on hockey player developement last year and they could step in as a military defense force as needed.

You're a good propagandist, Nielsio. Reminiscent of the communist party back in the day.

Yes, arguing against the profits of war from an anarchist and pacifist perspective is just like covering up mass genocide and brainwashing from a police state perspective.

I was comparing the use of twisted and misleading statistics, and evocative images.

How is that in any way a rebuttal of MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX FTW.

[/ QUOTE ]
You provided a graph which suggests that the US spends far more on war, relative to other countries. As a % of GDP, this is completely untrue, so the message that your graph conveys to the casual reader is false. You know this.

The graph shows that huge amounts of absolute wealth is spent in the US military industrial complex.

The way you try to obscure this reality of the profits of war in ways such as comparing me with communist propagandists is really quite sad.

I guess you really don't think about the children.

The Iraqee children that is.

Ah the old, your stats are wrong -- use my stats to get to my conclusion.

My GDP is $100, I spend $100 and buy 2 rifles. I win!

But it's <5% of GDP. Your graph combined with your post suggests that the US has some giant military industrial complex with no equivalent in other countries. That's just not true. American military spending is on par with other nations.

No, simply drawing your attention to tactics that make you look like a loon to the casual observer. I'm on the same side here - the corruption between Bush and large military contractors sickens me. But I think weird flags with tanks and barcodes just alienate the very people you're trying to reach. And they look exactly like communist propaganda from the 70s. I'm not saying you're a genocidal maniac. Please try not to conflate the issues.
