The Taj has a longtime regular named Joe, but I've only ever seen him play LHE and always higher than 5/10 - dresses real well and friendly? Not sure if it's the same guy you're talking about but if it is, he isn't to be trifled with.

Actually you sound like you're talking about Bill Braskey or maybe Chuck Norris... this thread is for a player going to the casino for the first time going to play some low limit NLHE tourneys

Don't think he wants to go play high-limit short handed with sharks, just my feeling

Yeah, I think I heard about an expert player by that name as far back as 94'-95'. Was supposed to have been an extremely gifted hand reader.

Joe Moon is an icon at Atlantic City, most notably the Taj. He dresses very well, and for the most part, has very good table manners and ettiqutes.

He's considered one of the best Limit players in the past 10+ years at the Taj. Joe Moon, Cong Do, and Chad Moore are considered the pioneers of Atlantic City professional poker players since the mid 90s. They have probably won the most money consistantly over the past 10+ years than anyone else in AC.

Although Joe Moon is not strong in all forms of poker like Cong Do, he is considered the best short handed limit player in the country. Everybody wants to be buddy-buddy with this guy, since he is such an iconic figure in atlantic city. It'll be tough to be frequently playing in Atlantic City w/o knowing who he is.

The Taj's had a 10-20 NLH game last night.
Lots of chips on the table. I understand the buy in is 1k to 3k? The players are only being charged 12 dollars per hour to play, no steady rake. I don't think I am ready for this game yet. It played real fast and aggressive for the 30 some minutes I was watching. Are the borgata players now moving over to the taj's??

there are some really low buyin tourneys at the Showboat (daily I think) for like $60-$70. Pretty big prizes as well since a lot of people come out for it.

I think that the min buyin for NL 1-2 is something like $60.

Yeah but what if you're a douche?
