When do YOU lay down AKo in a SNG (pre-flop)?
Ok, so lets forget the most obvious situation, you have average chips on the bubble, big stack raises, another player has a micro stack and will be forced all in on his/her next big blind. We can also lump in, a big stack goes all in, two average stacks call and its on you.
But when else would you fold AKo before the flop? If you were somewhat short stacked would you be more willing to gamble with it? What about when you strongly suspect its a coin flip but the pot is offering you a small overlay, say 15%? What is the overlay is bigger, like 50%? If you say you would fold to a known coin flip at even money, how much of an overlay would you want to make it a call? What other considerations do you take into account when deciding to lay down AK preflop? Thanks for any ideas, Guy. |

uhhhh if you're asking about the overlay and you *know* the guy has a PP this is just a math question.
excluding the pertinent bubble and short stack considerations lay down AK to a raise and a reraise most of the time. i generally prefer not to get it ai pf in early rounds here. |

There really are too many possible times to lay down AK. Specific examples would be better to answer your question.
To try and answer your general question, if there is a lot of raising in front of you, probably good to lay down AK, unless you're short, or it is late in a tourney when blinds are huge relative to stacks, then probably not. |

another obvious situation would be if you are a huge stack and are pushing into a micro stack - you may wanna laydown anything if you feel that keeping the bubble going may help you get more chips.

[/ QUOTE ] no [/ QUOTE ] Yeah many of the great sng players have established it's better to do the sngpt +EV plays than keep a bubble alive as a CL. |
