All the how to imporve methodologies seem to share the same point. "Review and post past hands". Well since I moved up to 100NL, I have found it considerably tougher. If I could get some advice on the hand below. Turn action is in drastic need of improvement on the first.

Just bet close to pot on the turn and get it AI if villain raises or on any river. As an alternative, a turn CR AI would be a good play if you know that villain stacks off lightly. Both plays have merit.
What worse hands that call the flop do expect to call that turn overbet? FWIW, a river overbet (on a blank river) screams missed draw and would be a better line. |

OP, When I see someone play the turn this way I mark them as being a kind of weak-tight. I agree with tufat, you don't have to try to terminate this hand on the turn. I don't know that your play is -EV (it might be) but it certianly isn't optimal, but the bigger issue is why you felt compelled to open-push the turn like that.
Tufat, that was like 27 words and 4 punctuation symbols. |

Hand 1: Bet $27 on the turn. As played it worked out good for you.
Hand 2: Bet the turn $23 It looks like you have a little work to do on your game but congrats on both wins! |

Hand 1: There is no card you have to fear to fall on the river with your top 2 pair + flush draw. Bet for value an amount that you think will get called.
Hand 2: Bet the turn. That's where your value is. There is no reason to fear the paired 3. Also you build the pot for another river value bet. |

Hand 1 I lost to a set. Am I still ahead most of the time there? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, but the way you played it, a decent player is only going to call you with a set. Your play allows hands you crush teh chance to get away, while letting hands that beat you get teh money in when they are the favorite. |

Hand 1: It is not about how many pots you win but how much money you win. The k is scary on the turn and you have a great hand. I don't mind a check and a cr AI or a big bet on the river. With your bet and that scare card I can't see anyone call that don't have a set or a huge draw with a pair.
