The Simpsons was one of the best shows a decade ago (if even then). If you make 6 seasons of gold and 10 seasons of crap, it mostly averages out to crap.

They are absolutely unwatchable. My brother and I grew up on the Simpsons. We watched every episode from when it started on TV until about Season 8, and watched every rerun of those episodes twice a day when they used to play them that much on weekdays on Fox. Slowly it just became crap. All the good writers left to join Conan's show I think because the jokes are terrible now and it has just become a stream of finding a situation they haven't put Homer in yet and adding some celebrity voice.

I think they peaked at Season 6.

ahhhhhh, i love bringing out people's inner hatred when out comes to television, a hatred that runs so deep that you go so far as to say "Lost" shouldn't have ran past the pilot? it is having "one disastrous and extremely annoying half of a season running currently?" interesting? interesting, since its ratings are never below "24" and it is the most talked about show on the internet spawning subsequent websites devoting a strange following, very cult-like in trying to crack the codes of the show. a show with this much attention, hype and following doesn't deserve the comments you made whether you like the show or not and just shows how you aren't able to think in this way, i, for one don't like "24" but i would never say it was a bad show or it didn't deserve to be past the pilot b/c that is just ridiculous and would make me look like a fool. congrats bud.
