buffets attract a lot more ppl in general, especially for lunches. the higher volume makes up for the price break you get. also, the restaurants don't have to bother plating the food, etc. it's also a great way to use up leftovers and food you otherwise couldn't sell. another advantage is you can serve whatever you want (i.e. whatever you got a good deal on this week).

Yea, there's this Korean BBQ all-you-can-eat a few miles away, and I go there every weekend. $12.99 for lunch, and all you can eat BBQ beef/chicken/pork, and of course a ton of different kimchees and fried rices and all kinds of other good stuff.... mmmm my stomach's grumbling just thinking about it.

I think the thing with Korean BBQ is that you almost have to eat the meat with rice, which fills you up faster, which means you eat less meat. So I think they're probably making bank.

Lots of Carbs and salads if you ever notice, the only Meat is usually some run over racoon you would'nt want to eat. Casinos tend to atleast have a higher grae meat (Prime Rib) etc. Also the one plate chump and grandma's that pay 20 dollars for a the buffet and drink water and have a piece of fried chicken are +++ev vs the fatty that eat 3 plates of Mac and Cheese and Mashed potato's (which is only slight -ev) since that stuffs usually cheap to buy in bulk and make

People don't use proper buffet strategy. You gotta focus on the meats or else you won't get your moneys worth. People load too much on the carbs...which is the cheapest thing to produce.

mrkilla's got it. I always go for the meats, but I still put some mac and cheese and some mashed potatoes on my plate because I like it so much. The chinese buffet near me has a very nicely prepared mussels dish in their buffet, but it tends to get run out fast, and they're obviously in no hurry to refill that too quickly. But the fried rice never runs out.

The fact that you control how much of the more expensive things you can turnaround helps.

This is why I like Indian buffets, it's the same quality food you'd get if you were paying $12 for an entree, but it's like $7.95 and you get a ton of different choices.

Bombay Cafe is da bomb(ay). I think I miss that more than just about anything else since leaving FFX county.
