Default 5/10 turned flush now need a river line

No stats on villan, first time playing with him. Only history is he seems to be limping a lot and I've been punishing his limps.

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $5/$10 Blinds - 6 Players - (http://www.legopoker.com/hh/)

Hero (SB): $1543
BB: $1059
UTG: $2538.75
MP: $1251
CO: $1101
BTN: $1027

Preflop: Hero is dealt Jd Td (6 Players)
UTG raises to $35, MP calls $35, CO calls $35, BTN folds, Hero calls $30, BB calls $25

Flop: ($175) Ts 7d 8d (5 Players)
Hero bets $140, 2 folds, MP calls $140, CO folds

Turn: ($455) 6d (2 Players)
Hero checks, MP bets $275, Hero calls $275

River: ($1005) Qc (2 Players)

I put him on possibly T9 or 89 or something I wanted to get the most value out of...that is why I check/called turn. Villan and I each have $800 left at the river. I kinda feel I'm committed to any blocking bet so I thought check/calling would be best. I thought if he has a better flush it'd give me a chance to get away cheaper and if not I give him a chance to bluff/valuebet a worse hand.

Thoughts?

He is lol. I do think that villain will valuebet more hands than he will call with and maybe bluff occasionally.

I don't like checking this river because a straight might check behind. Maybe you should shove?

I think you need to lead this river. You were the agressor on the flop, so villain may think your range is much wider than a flush there. You also don't want to give a free card if he has a bigger diamond. As played, I definately lead the river.
