Re: AKs 4 bet pre oop gets cold called
[ QUOTE ]
Or, he doesn't know what to do because he doesn't have KK or AA so he can't shove preflop, but he doesn't want to fold his AK, QQ, or JJ... so he calls to see if he gets some help on the flop. [/ QUOTE ] The problem is, if he played like this, he probably considers this flop to help him against your obv missed AK. |

Re: AKs 4 bet pre oop gets cold called
Even though pushing here is ok in a vacuum usually the opponent is holding a pocket pair that is waiting for a non A/K flop and now will felt it so check this time.

Re: AKs 4 bet pre oop gets cold called
chiTown22, people don't call 4-bets pre-flop to just fold on this kind of flop. Villains don't call 4-bets pf with AK they shove or fold. Thus he has an overpair. When you're playing 100NL you should almost never try to bluff someone off an overpair. Furthermore, when he calls the 4-bet you know he has a pretty good pocket pair. And he certainly isn't folding on this flop after putting in almost half his stack.
I agree that I'd have a tough time calling an AI with TT/JJ on this flop but the villain prob isn't as good as most of the posters on this forum. most TAG's hate folding high pocket pairs so let's not try to make him do that especially when the pot is already so big that he basically has to call. Let's please let this thread die now k thx. |
