Avatar - I would agree with you to an extent. The New player guide is a good starting book for a novice but I do think Championship Pot Limit and No Limit Holdem has it's value. This book was considered the best book on tournaments at the time it was written. Things have obviously changed in tournament poker and there are a ton of better books but this book still has value in my opinion.

Would you consider the Cluetier/McEvoy book useless as well?

The only McEvoy book that isn't completely useless, is the one with Daugherty, but that is a beginners book and has been made obsolety by HOH

All other McEvoy books are useless

exactly..that is the book I recommended to be added.
you aren't missing much without it but I think it is a great first book on tournaments.

As for Cloutier's book, I just don't think it is applicable to today's games.

I will agree that at the time it was written, it would be on your list but that is because poker literature was so limited and the games were much different (when opponents actually knew how to fold)
