college laziness compared to HS laziness
I'm pretty lazy when it comes to school...I don't read assigned books, I don't do much HW, I don't study much, etc. However, I've been able to squeak by and get As and Bs; but now I'm off to college. How lazy can I be and still get As and Bs at Northwestern next year?

[/ QUOTE ] Take it with a grain of salt, but except for my semester Calc and Chemistry exams, I honestly cannot remember studying for a single exam in college. I remember writing papers, but I don't remember spending that much time on them. Unless you're math or science, I think it's pretty easy to not spend too much time on your studies and get decent grades. I graduated with a 3.7, FWIW. |

Re: college laziness compared to HS laziness
I worked less in uni than HS. My marks dropped in my first year, but skyrocketed when I majored in something I was good at.

Re: college laziness compared to HS laziness
It's funny. When I was in high school, everyone told me that the workload got harder and heavier, and I wouldn't be able to ace everything without trying.
They forgot to tell me that my ability to BS my way through life would adjust and improve accordingly. |

It's funny. When I was in middle school, everyone told me that the workload got harder and heavier, and I wouldn't be able to ace everything without trying. [/ QUOTE ] They were wrong about high school and they were wrong about college. Slack away. |

Re: college laziness compared to HS laziness
I didn't do anything at all in HS, and I can't really stress how little I did, and ended up with a 3.0 GPA (very very good public school).
I have ~ 3.5 GPA in college and only study my brains out the night before tests. |

College is easier than high school if you're smart. If you're stupid it will be much much harder.

Re: college laziness compared to HS laziness
Ya I didn't do much freshman year except study before the day of the test and think I ended up with a round a 3.50. I did a lot of work since then and ended up with a 4.0 during my last 3 years.
I think it's pretty easy to slack you're way to a 3.5 / 3.6. But I think the difference between a 4.0 and 3.6 is pretty big. |
