The only reason his RF is better now, is because of the increase in GB pitchers they've gotten. All the advanced defensive measures say he is basically the worst defensive SS ever.

Yea, I know, I was just saying their infield defense is still awful, and the majority of their good pitchers are heavy GB pitchers(Wang Pettite and Pavano).

Hey yankee fans. Could someone fill me in on what Pettitte is doing coming out of the bullpen? Looking at my fantasy stats he's had two relief appearances so far this year and is scheduled to start Wednesday against Toronto. Is this going to be a common thing that he pitches on off days or are the yanks just that hurting for pitchers?

well, it was his throwing day anyways, so torre gave the bullpen a rest and used pettitte

it is standard for pitchers to throw, typically, on their 2nd day of rest

Right, however its not standard for them to do this in a game. Personally it makes sense, your SP are your best pitchers, so why not do this? Which begs the question, why dosn't everyone do it?

While it is standard for guys to have throw-days in between starts, it is obviously by no means standard for them to take the mound in games on those days.

It was an interesting move by Torre, to say the least.
