I remember seeing an interview with a DEA officer after they had busted a series of coke producing factories in some South American country. I believe they destroyed several hundred tons of cocaine. They were very excited because they thought there would be a huge effect on the quantity and/or quality of street drugs - after many months, they said they didn't notice any affect whatsoever in the quantity and quality of street coke.

I seriously doubt that this will have any effect on the prices of blow. There might be a short price increase, but the market (as always) will balance itself back out.
I remember reading somewhere that the US gov only stops 1% of all drugs from entering the US. |

Agreed. What does the DEA's budget a year? Think about how much money is spent just to try and stop drugs from entering the US. And yet only 1% is stopped.
