First of all, if you're going to try to force a bell curve on a 1-10 scale then you at the very least need a way to measure hotness other than asking dudes to rank women 1-10. Something scientific like brainwave response. Assuming this can be done you still have to decide how you want to overlay 1-10.

Like you basically need to find the best looking woman, and ugliest woman in the world, then evenly spread out 1-10 across the standard distributions between them. (IE - Adriana Lima scores a 6.77 or whatever and the Throw Momma From the Train woman scores -7.24). Or probably a better way is to just say anything over 2.5 SDs is a 10/1, then spread everything inbetween evenly over 2-9. But that's arbitray.

Also, do we count people with physical deformities, scars, etc.? I think it's best not to. One thing is sure, using this method a roomful of true 1s would be a scary site.

For those of you advocating the 10% method - if you're going say a 10 is top 10% of the legal-age female U.S. population, this girl is easily a 10. I think if you limit your population to 18-35 year olds, she's still a 10, a 9 at the worst. Most of us don't get out to the sticks much. Some scary stuff out there. At least half the girls in the midwest are having babies and puttin out by 25.
