Default Need a new video card for multi-tabling

I bought a Dell XPS 210 in January, and without knowing much about computers, I figured a 19" monitor would be all I needed. But the computer's video card sucks (it's an Intel G965 Express Chipset) and only goes to 1280*1024 resolution. I want better resolution so I can fit more tables on my screen.

Because of the size of the computer, I can only upgrade to a "half-height" video card. Does anyone have a recommendation for which video card to buy (keeping in mind that it has to be half-height, PCI-express)? Thanks in advance for helping this computer illterate n00b.

Are you sure this problem isn't a limitation of your monitor? I would wager 10-1 that a G965 is capable of more than 1280x1024.

You're right; I just looked into it, and my monitor's max resolution is 1280x1024. Looks like I need a better one. Thanks for the help.

For just playing poker, unless you want dual-head, onboard graphics are almost always going to be more than enough. The advantages of add-on cards are overwhelmingly in 3D applications (i.e. whatever "doom" derrivative the kids are playing nowadays).

You're way behind the times. I heard Doom II came out. It's awesome.
