AA vs a Maniac
Villain is a total Maniac with 91/29/31 (vpip/w@sd/PreflopRaise).
I have played 100 hands with him and he lost about 200 $. He has been all-in about 25% with any two. Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter) SB: $83.35 BB: $35.55 UTG: $31.10 MP: $143 <font color="black">Hero (CO): $46.65</font> BTN: $37.60 <font color="black">Preflop:</font> Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 Players) UTG calls $0.25, MP folds, <font color="red">Hero raises to $2</font>, 2 folds, BB calls $1.75, UTG calls $1.75 <font color="black">Flop:</font> ($6.10) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players) <font color="red">BB bets $0.25</font>, UTG calls $0.25, <font color="red">Hero raises to $9</font>, BB calls $8.75, UTG calls $8.75 <font color="black">Turn:</font> ($33.10) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players) <font color="red">BB bets all-in for $24.55</font>, UTG folds, <font color="red">Hero pukes and calls $24.55</font> I know I might be beat here easily and usually I think I would lay this down. But can I really fold AA here against such a Maniac? I think the range of hands I beat here is too big. How would you play this? |

Re: AA vs a Maniac
What can you do? Of course you have to call him, getting over 2:1.
By the way, I like the raise to 8x the BB, knowing that the psycho in the BB is behind you. |

Re: AA vs a Maniac
I really like the way you played this. If villain is really that bad, I might consider pushing the flop, saves you from situations like this and he will call with any piece anyway.

Re: AA vs a Maniac
Thanks for the feedback.
I also considered pushing the flop, which might have been a good move too cause I think he would have called me if he had hit. But I did not want to scare him off and wanted him to put all his money in, so took the risk that he might draw me out. Did not like the 3 on the turn though. But I think I was committed at that point anyway. Anybody here who would have played this different? |

Re: AA vs a Maniac
Against this guy I think you have to call. But was he a maniac pushing all-in with any two or a maniac calling all-in with any piece?

He was pushing all-in with every draw, TPNK, bottom PP and sometimes with air...
