AQ v Nit over 200BB Deep
3/6 NL, Prima skin
Hero has $1294.85, Villain (18/11/~2) covers. He is tight and fairly straightforward. The other player in the hand is loose and prone to making large bets into players who show weakness. He also covers. Folded to Villain in CO, who raises ($18). Hero reraises to $63 with AhQd. SB (the loose player mentioned...he is about 38/19) calls cold. Villain also calls. Flop ($195): Ad 5h Jh SB checks, Villain bets $120 Is this a clear fold? What other options do I have? |

Re: AQ v Nit over 200BB Deep
I'd call and probably fold to a big turnbet if I don't improve. Folding seems weak since we do have top pair, position and two runner runner draws.

this is a pretty clear call [/ QUOTE ] I think it's pretty close. I mean he did bet into a 3 better and a cold caller on an ace high board. He's gotta be pretty strong. |

Re: AQ v Nit over 200BB Deep
I would probably call and re-assess turn (usually folding), but I can see a strong argument for folding right away, especially if you are confident in your read.

[/ QUOTE ] 75% of the time i find it better to just fold in those, 'call and re-assess' spots, as most of the time your just folding the next street anyway. Being that your deep vs an apparently nitty player, i think folding outright is best. He isn't bluffing with the cold caller. |

[/ QUOTE ] I agree, given the player description I expect to be way behind here. Since he's straightforward and nitty and betting into a reraiser and a very loose player he shouldn't be bluffing hardly ever, and worse aces don't make much sense due to preflop. |

Re: AQ v Nit over 200BB Deep
Reraising a nit with AQo is not a good play. If he shows any strength at all on the flop you need to fold.

Re: AQ v Nit over 200BB Deep
I think calling here is somewhere between slightly dubious and really bad.
