If by U of I he means Illinois - I went there and Smirnoff was probably the standard vodka everyone drank.

Stoli and Skyy are probably the two worst i have ever had.

[/ QUOTE ]

you need to drink some worse vodka!

[/ QUOTE ]

ive only drank Ketel One, Grey Goose, Absolut, Finlandia (very good try it if you have the chance), Belvedere, Chopin, and Smirnoff

out of all those Stoli and Skyy have been the worst by far.

How old are you? Did you go to college?

Mr. Boston and Purple Powerade were consumed in mass quantities my sophomore year.

20, U of I ending my sophomore year soon.

[/ QUOTE ]

How is this possible?

[/ QUOTE ]

U of I kids are apparently rich. I rarely saw anything as nice as the stuff he mentioned in college and I went to a big school (UCLA).

[/ QUOTE ]

i wouldnt say U of I kids are rich at all.
For vodka i just split a nicer bottle with a friends 50-50.
As for beer ive had plenty of keystone light (for some reason its harder to convince people to split better beer)

hangar one IMO greatest vodka, its at bevmo so not hard to find...

belvedere is a good "high end but not too exorbitantly priced" vodka, same prices as GG. Chopin is also good but a little different, potato vodka.

you should also get him to try level. first time i had it i was like wtf kind of vodka is this

Hanger One is excellent, cheaper/better than Grey Goose. I am a Stoli fan personally though, but I tend to just do shots of vodka so... take that with a grain of salt I guess.

Anyone tried "Level"? the commercials are phenomenal, not sure about the product itself though...

I'm surprised no one mentioned Vox it's somewhat expensive but very tasty. I also think Ketel One is great for the price.

Anyone ever tried Blavad vokda? It's black vodka and tastes pretty good IMO. Rarely ever see it at a liquor store though.

edit: stoli vanilla tastes great in white russians

the ny times did a blind vodka tasting with a bunch of people a few years ago and published a story with the results. the tasters were a wide mix of people, random ny times employees, vodka enthusiasts, people who worked in the vodka business, etc. smirnoff was by far the favorite, invluding over a bunch of much more expensive bottles.

sorry, i'm too lazy to look for the link right now.

If you're gonna be mixing it with juice/soda/etc Absolut is the choice IMO.
