is 89s good enough?
10 handed
150 buy-in LVL 5 BLINDS 200-400, 15 minute rounds Avg stack around $4500 Folds to you in the CO, you have $2500 (M is 4) and you have 89s.The button and the blinds have u covered easily. Does anybody push with this? Do my cards really matter? |

Re: is 89s good enough?
I'm pushing this very often. You have first-in-vigorish and the blinds increase rapidly. Furthermore, 89s is an above par hand for making plays like this with a dwindling stack. You can easily justify pushing here.

Very Easy Push, 89s plays well against alot of hands you get called by. Pussshhh

Re: is 89s good enough?
Your cards do matter, but not much. Most of your equity here is fold equity (which will also depend on the stacks and players behind you). The rest comes from your equity against their calling range - 89s is easily good enough.

Re: is 89s good enough?
Yeah, Hollywood HR, lousy tournament structure but not much better around, at least the competition is weak. Have you played there?
