Whether the program is "working correctly" depends on whether it accurate measures what it is intended to measure. In this case, I believe that it is accurate in that it measures the variance between the expected value when all the money went in the pot and the actual results. I don't think it was intended to measure the actual results against one's total expected value - otherwise, why would its application be limited to all-in situations?
