Re: What would your grandparents think if you married a black woman?
my grandparents are all dead so I'd imagine they wouldn't think much at all about it...
but more to the point... my parents took loads of crap from both sides of the family when they got together... and they are both white lol... mom catholic, dad jewish... my maternal grandmother woulda [censored] her pants if I married a black woman... my uncle (her son) once wanted to get me a job at the UPS depot he worked at.. not cause he actually wanted to help out his nephew out of love.. but cause he wanted to show me "all the black kids stealing stuff" (yes, those were his exact words)... they were a buncha alcoholic hard core racists... my dad's family wouldn't have liked it much either but they woulda kept it to themselves... they barely spoke english anyway lol |

Re: What would your grandparents think if you married a black woman?
I think my parents would survive although nothing would surprise me. My Mom is a Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly nut.
My GF is from South America and has darker skin than me of course. But my parents are completely fine with that although at first I wasn't quite sure if they would be. For some reason, I think in my parents world it's more okay for me to be with a latina. i suspect a lot of people are this way. My GF says that if she dated a black man, much less married one, she's pretty sure her Dad would have a heart-attack right there on the spot. Just letting you know that such prejudices aren't isolated to the good-ol' U-S-of-A. |

Re: What would your grandparents think if you married a black woman?
Even if they were alive, why the [censored] would I care what they thought about someone I decided to marry? If they were that narrow-minded (and they likely were, given the relatives I've interacted with), then screw them.

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] 18, New Jersey. I don't think my parents/grandparents would mind the black thing so much as the non-jewish thing. I wonder what the response was if I found a black chick who was jewish somehow through adoption or something. [/ QUOTE ] you know people convert, she doesnt have to be adopted she can just be a convert (ive met black jews before) it would be much more funny if she was a Black Hebrew [/ QUOTE ] I thought he was the only black Jew in the history of the world: |
