I hit a deer a couple years going 40 mph. Hit him right on the license plate, it was kinda like hitting a baseball on the "sweet spot" of a bat. That [censored] went flying sooo far it didnt even look real. Also, there was no damage done to my car (2001 chevy lumina).

FWIW, correct play is to lift foot from the gas, then swerve.

It's a standard exercise for all police drivers. Reasoning behind it is that when you lift your foot from the gas, weight shifts to front wheels to give you better steering grip. They call it the "lift and shift" or something like that, and train for it all the time.
