$25NL: Drawy board. What to do with the turned nuts?
No-Limit Hold'em, $.25 BB (6 handed)
BB ($37.01) UTG ($40.26) MP ($23.44) CO ($40.90) Button ($28.24) Hero ($25.25) Preflop: Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG calls $0.25, 1 fold, CO calls $0.25, Button calls $0.25, Hero completes, BB checks. Flop: ($1.25) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) Hero checks, BB checks, UTG checks, CO checks, Button checks. Turn: ($1.25) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) Hero bets $1.25, BB folds, UTG folds, CO raises to $2.50, Button calls $2.50, Hero ??? How much should I re-pop here? I don't want to make the river cheap, but I also don't want to fold everyone out. |

Re: $25NL: Drawy board. What to do with the turned nuts?
CO limped, he could be holding a variety of pairs turned sets, split pairs, and possibly a king with a decent kicker. Maybe a suited ace. For all we know he's holding 4/5 spades and thinks he has 15 outs.
I think you must deny the flush options. If that folds people out then it folds people out. It could be that the CO has a set in which case he may stick it out till the river regardless. Your straight isn't blatantly obvious. I would say to push it to about 8 and to hope he has enough of a hand to call. Since he reraised, he probably does, and if he is on a bluff then you're not getting any money out of him. The Button has called so far and without any indication of strength on his part we're not worried. If he calls, he calls. He may just be a calling station. If he doesn't call I think he wouldn't call any reraise but its a reraise IMO you must make. |

I think you have to re-raise here. The common mistake at the lower levels is calling too much. Raise with the nuts and make him do it. The size of the bet is arbitrary as long as it is not a crazy amount.

Make it to around $10. Any less and the implied odds are right for someone on a flush draw; with the pot:stack ratios you wont be folding if the flush hits.
