Default Withdrawl From UB using Moneybookers

Got this message when trying to make a withdrawl from UB using Moneybookers.

"Following the port security bill signed the thirteenth day of October Two-thousand and Six, MoneyBookers will no longer process transactions from US & Canadian customers."

This isn't right is it? Although I haven't made a withdrawl at UB using MoneyBookers, I have made a MoneyBookers deposit at UB recently and I have made withdrawls/deposits at other sites using MoneyBookers.

It's nonsense. I'm going through the same crap. UIGEA has nothing to do with Canadians and MB is offered by UB and a number of other sites. UB didn't have any problem accepting my deposit via MB, they shouldn't have any issue with a withdrawl. Likely just crappy CS, quelle surprise.

Fortunately it seems that other Canadians (assuming that you are Canadian) have been successful at withdrawing from UB via MB. Though there was some silliness involved.

If you're interested in the details check out the ewallets for Canadians thread.

If I get any telling result from UB I'll be sure to post an update.

I am sick of countries lumping Canada with the U.S. Whether it's pure ignorance or whatever, it's beginning to annoy me. The U.S. does not OWN Canada. Canada is a separate country. Canada is NOT their 51st state.

I don't disagree with your sentiment however I think the real issue is poor, under-informed customer service. A problem not limited to UB unfortunately.

Sadly true. I've noticed that a few other sites do the same thing.

I'm having the same problem. I haven't made a withdrawal with Moneybookers before this. I also thought I could "seed" my Moneybookers account through UB because it worked for someone else so no deposits to UB either. I guess I will email support later on.

I just made my first deposit through moneybookers today and it went through fine. I guess you can deposit but not withdraw using MB? this sucks.

UB/Absolute do the same thing will Click2Pay. They accept deposits just fine but when I emailed them about withdraw they said they couldn't because I was in the US. I really don't get it at all...

No, if you can deposit with MB, you should be able to withdraw using MB. Don't take any excuses that they give you!
