Bet pot on the flop. As it is you are now either WA/WB so I take a check to invite a bluff. If I pair up I raise all in or push all in hoping he did catch straight or flush or even thinks you are bluffing. If you are of similar strength on the river call pretty much any bet he makes as he's going to bet a big range of hands into you including air, PPs, qx, two-pair, lower set, etc, etc.

The reason I didn't potbet the flop was that I figured I'd only get called by an overpair, which didn't seem likely. On the turn I actually bet $10, got called and filled up on the river where he pushed me all-in and showed QJ.

See that's where i disagree with common logic. First off he might have a draw in which case he'll call you or he might have an unpair and raise you or even put a fresh air play on you. He'll only do that though if you CB nearly every, if not every, heads up pot irrespective of what it brings for you. If you start checking only when you hit big you are giving away free information.

You know you have the best hand on the flop so go on ahead and bet it. Being way ahead doesn't mean you should never bet IMHO. Turns out he had the exact sort of hand I thought he'd have. I'd have bet pot on the flop, played dead on the turn and bite him in the ass on the river when he suddenly thought QJ was good.
