Re: QQ on a scary board
Pretty much raise every street. Calling down here is horrible.
Villain has a lone spade here quite often, and you want to get the money in the middle quickly. Also, if he has a smaller set, you want the money in the middle before a 4th spade falls and kills your action. Flop raise it to $15 or so. Push turn. Push river. (edit: stacks already in, so just call) |

Re: QQ on a scary board
This hand is interesting because the stacks are so deep. With only 100BB stacks this would play itself and you're pretty much trying to get it all in on the flop.
Here, I think you have to raise the flop to see where villain stands. I am raising to about $13 to take away his drawing odds. (Much more likely that he holds a draw than a made flush) The only question then would be how to respond to a push. At that point, you've got only $25 left behind and are being offered just under 2:1. That's almost enough to draw to a full house even if you're sure you're beat. I don't think you can ever be 100% sure he flopped a flush here, so it looks to me like if he wants to play for stacks you've got to oblige. Scary when it's 160BB though. Anyone else have an opinion? |

Re: QQ on a scary board
as is just call. i agree about raising on all streets. at some point he will either come over the top in which case you go all in (assuming another spade hasn't hit), or he will fold.

Raise flop, raise turn, raise river, and if you ever get re-raised, then raise again. And we know you won, your hand is good here like 99/100 times |
