I'd be interested in a game like this too. I live in Westminster, but go to school in Boulder. Had a very profitable game, but it appears as though everyone I played with has become jobless and unable to play. Still, I'd be interested in trying a new home game, and to anyone who is interested I know a very fishy .25/.50 (sometimes .5/1)NLHE and some NLO game if anyone wants a Sunday (sometimes Tues, Wed) game in Westminster.

maybe wherever we do this we can all pitch in to get the fight on pay per view?

Hey, instead of starting a new thread:

I'm moving to Mancos in about a week. Ive got a summer job there building a home. Can anyone give me some information on things to do while im out there? How far outside Denver am I? Ive never driven in the mountains, whats it like? Is there live poker? Ill have weekends off, and probably a week or two sporadically during the summer, so Id like to spend my time doing some outdoors type stuff. Fishing, hiking, camping, whatever. Im sure there are plenty of opportunities for that, but perhaps you guys have some good ideas on where to go. Anyways, any help would be great. Thanks.

Sorry to derail your thread, by the way. If you guys would rather pm me, thats fine.

Mancos is outside Durango in the southeast portion of the state, and Denver is a little north of center... it looks like you're ~350 miles from Denver (i.e. not close). As far as things to do: hiking / biking / fishing / outdoorsy stuff is probably the norm... I've never been down to that part of the state, but you're really close to Mesa Verde National Park / 4 corners.

That's a tough question to answer - it varies. There are flat roads in the vallies, regular sized hills near some of the mountains, and 8% grades that go for miles and miles. If you have a manual transmission, for the steep / long grades go both uphill and downhill in a gear that is one gear lower than what you usually drive in (uphill, it'll help you keep your speed up / downhill, it'll help prevent you picking up speed). If you have an auto, turn off Overdrive on the big grades (both up and down).

I believe there are only two casino towns in CO (well, 3... but 2 are less than a mile apart). Central City / Blackhawk are both west of Denver, and there's a town outside Colorado Springs as well (Cripple Creek, maybe?). 300+ miles from you, though.

Castle Rock here...interested if it happens
better be low/moderate stakes though, I'm not driving to play above my BR with a bunch of 2p2ers...priority should be on fun factor

What do you think you'll need to adjust to? The driving? Most of the people living in this state are really laid back and easy to get along with, so you'll probably be made to feel right at home within a day or two.

Aside: on re-reading my previous post, I realized why "vallies" looks so weird... I guess it's supposed to be "valleys"

I live in a big city. The person im staying w/ (building his house) doesnt have internet access or a tv. Not that this bothers me, I love to read and play guitar, so I figure ill be fine. I only have one friend that lives out there, and he's in colorado springs, whioh is quite a drive I guess. I woudlnt say that I'm nervous, I just realize that its a big change.
