Default 10NL - AA, What\'s Your Line Here?

I don't know if I played this poorly or not. I'm looking for your critique.

Villain just sat down and this was the 9th hand for him. He had been in all but about 3 pots. Still not sure if that was enough for a read. All comments appreciated (good and bad).

I'd probably bump it up a bit more preflop. .70-.80 since there are two limpers (they're very likely to continue) and you want to thin the field to just 1 opponent. Flop is fine. You have a very strong hand on a very safe board.

Isura and Mingdu, thanks. To give you a little bit of background, I have a history of not getting action on my good starting hands, mainly pocket rockets and cowboys. I figured the standard 4xbb plus 1bb/limper would be sufficient.

I want to comment more on this hand but will hold off in hopes that others chime in with their thoughts. I honestly wasn't sure whether I played this right.

I probably woul;d have only bet 1.5 on flop but certainly can;t fault you for betting pot there. After he raises the all-in is automatic.

Well played hand.

Here is my issue with the hand. While playing I was a bit skeptical of the paired 10s. That's because I've noticed that a lot of people like to play 10s, especially if they have a paint card to go with it. I'm not sure if that's a common thing or if it's just something I THINK I OBSERVE. Even still, I figured that no sane player would call my 6xbb pfr with a sole 10 in their hand. I could see calling with any pocket pair even pocket 10s, but not with just a single 10. The chances of them having quads 10s are remote so I don't mind pushing here and getting beat with pocket 10s. I also don't mind getting beat with trips 8s, assuming they called with pocket 8s.

As played, I thought that once he raised me I had to push. No sense calling or 2bet raising cause we were playing for all the chips at that point. My only issue with the hand were the 10s. If he had pocket 8s, my thought was, "oh well" he deserves to be paid off and I would just chalk it up as bad luck. If he had a 10 I would look at it as bad play on his part. Is this too much thinking on my part. It seems like it is since all of you are saying it's standard. I'm still trying to learn this game.

I think your "10" fixation is similar to people who feel that KK is an ace magnet.

Happens as often as it should but seems as if it happens more because when it does it hurts us.

Not familiar with the "KK is an ace magnet" fixation. I'm curious but maybe I don't want to know.

You get pocket K's and shove ... of course you get called by A3o and an A shows on the river.

Every time ...

Ace magnets

These things happen exactly as often as they should ... there are other fixations I have ... ahh ... errr ... that are out there. It is only because they hurt and we remember that it just seems like it happens more than it should.

Unless of course the "doom switch" has been turned on ... then you are just plain [censored]
