I get nervous when playing too, I think it's perfectly normal, and part of the fun of poker. Thankfully online it doesn't show.

I used to be like that.Stressed and heart goin crazy but I think it was because I was playing well above my BR and if I lost it would severly cripple me lol. Now the only time I get excited like that is in a tournament all in.

Perfectly normal, the more you play (particularly live) the less it shows, the more you control it.
I still have the problem, but no where near as bad as it used to be. Sunglasses are good for covering the eyes, which can be a tipoff as well. |

Is there any medication to take for this problem?
I took a break from live poker for a few months and I found myself going through all this kind of emotions when I got back , it felt again like the first time when I started playing live. I now plan to go on a trip in some live casinos in Europe and some kind of pills would be helpful. |

A few beers (but not too many) beforehand will take care of this. After 4 years of live/online playing, my heart still pounds like OP's, and I'm very glad it does. As far as tells are concerned, the good news is I'm equally as nervous bluffing as I am with the nuts |

This happened to me all the time when I first started playing live. It still does when I play live (I rarely do), but I notice if it's like a 3-day weekend of playing live, my heart stops beating so hard by day 2.
Online it's not as bad because I usually play multiple tables, and I play for smaller stakes, so it's a combination of having to act on other tables while I have that hand, less $ at hand, and it happening more often. I also don't know what to make of it as a tell. I notice my heart beats basically every time I put a high % of my stack at risk, be it a bluff, a big draw, TP vs a bad player, or AA. I don't really think people can get a read on me based on that. |

Beta blockers will do what you want. Talk to your doc and if you're especially smooth or charming, he/she may be willing to give you a couple weeks' supply.

Just lose a few big hands with AA. You won't be too excited to see them anymore.

When the adrenaline really hits, you will have tunnel vision along with it. It helps to know that you are not having a heart attack (usually) and that it will pass. Short of taking the Beta blockers, the best thing to do is be aware and prepared for the situation. The hardest thing for me is handling the next several hands jacked up on adrenaline and usually no cards to play.
