If you feel like ur gettin 3bet light... jus shove. Calling is TERRIBLE... i jus lean towards fold and tighten up late position opening range so you can shove more often he 3bets.

bet/calling would be a great line in this spot if you had a king. because i think he shoves nearly any sort of pair or gutshot or oesd. given you have a 5 and those hands have great equity, c/rai is probably the way to go.

but yeah this was effed up pretty bad preflop, as others have said. 3-betting and shoving are sort of the same if you think you will be priced in to call an all in. i prefer 3 betting bc i generally 3bet my monsters rather than shoving. if you generally shove your monsters, shove here. that's that.

shove preflop. there's no worse feeling when you 4bet him and he reads you as weak and shoves with like QJ and you lose. it doesn't matter if you don't do this with AA/KK because he doesn't know that for sure yet. Obviously you'll have to adjust in the future.

Wow, very interesting decision here between 3 betting and shove. I'm honestly not sure which is better. Maybe it is read dependent?

If I'm sure the guy is three betting light very often is it maybe ok to just shove, have him fold his 90+% of the time and move on?

This is meta game kinda stuff and I'm not all about being a 15/20 TAG so if you are in the same boat, what do you do?

Thanks,

soda

OK, sorry for the extra post, but against a guy who's already re-raised your open from the CO 3 times now in less than 10 rounds, this is clearly a meta game issue IMO. What's the best response in this (for me) fairly common situation?

When it gets that extreme, a push seems ok, but he's getting such great odds on a call with a lock, I'm not sure. And then four betting reasonably on pushing on almost any flop seems even more EV, but I'm unsure which flops to push and which to check/fold to. New territory for me here.

Thanks again,

soda

wow, this is weird. i normally fold pf here to the rr. i think thats better. all we have to go on is [ QUOTE ]
I was extremely confident that this time he was three betting light and I wanted to re-re-steal.

[/ QUOTE ] yet nothing was shown to demonstrate that. everytime i employ that thinking i get [censored], simply bc some [censored] nit or ~solid tag went on a cardrush and i misjudged.

as others said though, c/rai or c/f are probably the best flop plays.

Fold this instantly.
Choose a better hand to play back with that has some decent equity like a pair or some kind of A hand or QK.

If I continue with a hand I'd shove.
