Re: Check flop in 3bet pot?
[ QUOTE ]
#1 I hate the way you played this hand, but after underrepping your hand I call or push here always. No folds. I might just call cause we do only have 1 pair.... [/ QUOTE ] No [censored] if it was just one villain I could see a check, but since it's two I fire a 2/3 flop bet and most likely get it all in there on the turn. |

Re: Check flop in 3bet pot?
Bet flop and turn.
The biggest mistake SSNLers do is calling too much so unless you don't bet they can't call. I'd check the turn at times to induce a river bet from a very agressive opponent. I bet this flop 100% of the time against 2 opponents. They expect you to bet with any hand you have so don't dissapoint them. Your bet tell them nothing about your hand strength. |

Re: Check flop in 3bet pot?
vs 2 villians you just have to hope someone has AQ/KK and will call you, I like a bet flop, check turn to get value on river.
However check, Bet just looks like slowplaying to me, and if you have them beat and they are calling you on the turn, they would have called you on the flop too, so why slowplay? All that does is let hands that WONT pay you off in anyway, hit thier set, or hit a runner flush card, or whatever and suck your [censored] ass out. |

Re: Check flop in 3bet pot?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] As played, I snap call river... Board: 2d 9h Ac 4c 7h Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 87.097% 82.26% 04.84% 51 3.00 { AhKc } Hand 1: 12.903% 08.06% 04.84% 5 3.00 { TT+, A5s+, ATo+ } [/ QUOTE ] How relevant are these kind of calculations? How about all the possible sets/2pairs he could have? And he surely is not doing it with for example TT every time. [/ QUOTE ] I'd see things like this: Board: 2d 9h Ac 4c 7h Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 83.721% 76.74% 06.98% 33 3.00 { AhKc } Hand 1: 16.279% 09.30% 06.98% 4 3.00 { 99+, ATs+, AQo+ } The 3-bets is large and weak aces are folding, except if villain is an ace-master (seeing flops with all aces). His calling range is tighter so I reduced to {ATs, AQo+}. On another hand he may call more pockets, for set value, so I included 99 (which spikes a set). Note that the good 3-bet size makes it actualy unprofitable. Gball: This kind of calculations says: my hand is better than his range . Here, if villain is good, I shove the river (because your line is intelligently donkish). If he's bad, I snap-call. |

Re: Check flop in 3bet pot?
I quite like the idea of checking against one opponent, but against two you could well be letting them draw to two different kickers to make two pair on you, along with a couple of possible set draws etc.
Against two I think it's fine to get your value/thin the field a bit on the flop. I am not a fan of playing tricky in multiway pots, though at least you have position on them both. |
