Default Monitor problems...half the screen is yellow.

I recently just reformatted my computer and the left half of the monitor is yellow/green tinted with vertical lines (I'm pretty sure it's unrelated but I did have to move the monitor to another location to download some drivers). Whenever a window moves through it, it becomes distorted and remains that way for awhile. The right side of the screen is fine. The monitor works fine when attached to my laptop.

I'm guessing it's some type of problem with the connection but all the pins looked okay. Am I missing something easy?

I'm upgrading to a new monitor anywhere but want to get this settled before I do so since it appears the problem rests with the computer rather than the monitor.

Yeah, this means it's not the monitor at all, right? You could connect another monitor to your 'puter to be sure, but it sounds like there's a problem with your video card.

Anybody think this is a driver (software) issue, and not hardware? Sounds like hardware to me.

I may have needed to get a new video card anyway since the computer is old (3+ years) and came with a poor video card direct from Dell. I was considering getting the Dell 2407WFP and wasn't sure it could handle it. Still any suggestions you guys might have would be helpful.
