Anyone here work for Vanguard?
I just got a job at Vanguard in PA. Anyone here work there or know anything about the culture there? I'm just curious to hear before I start.

Re: Anyone here work for Vanguard?
That would have been something helpful to investigate BEFORE taking the job.

Re: Anyone here work for Vanguard?
I'm not asking because I'm uncertain about the company. I just wanted to hear feedback from someone who's been there already. Helpful comments only please.

What is your job title and how did you get the interview?

Re: Anyone here work for Vanguard?
I'm starting as a client relationship associate. Basically entry level, answering calls from investors. That's where most people start when they're hired unless you have alot of experience. I'm 23 and finished school not even a year ago. The only real work experience I have is in insurance. As far as the interview goes, I applied online and also sent my resume to some people I know who work there. They said they'd forward it to someone who could get me an interview. I've heard it's hard to get an interview unless you know someone there.

Re: Anyone here work for Vanguard?
A friend of mine works there (actuary, does defined benefit stuff if you can believe it). Sounds like a pretty formal, button down environment but generally reasonable in most respects (workload, fairness, etc.). My friend works less hours there than he did at prior jobs (still over 40, but not by much).
FWIW, but overall he is happy and my impression is that it's a good company to work for. |

Re: Anyone here work for Vanguard?
I used to live near Valley Forge. I think I went to their office in person to open up my first IRA in April of 1997. Well maybe it was 1996... So long ago.
