Strip, if your point is that a 30BB swing in 5CD or any form of poker isn't possible, then you're a fool.

If that's not your point, then I'm a [censored] because I can't figure out what it is.

In just one day? I suppose I don't feel so badly then with my 60BB loss in .5/1, over a chunk of time... 22hours. It's just weird: I win at the 1/2 and the 2/4 (only one session tho, doesn't really count, just like to say it LOL).
Either way, I'm doing well at the $50's and $100's (when I find a game). Now I just stay out of Limit. Weird, since I played it for years at Paradise.

Who ever thinks that 5CD has low variance hasn't played much draw.

I think that PL and NL can have less variance than limit if you pay attention to the betting patterns. I rarely have a down session, but I try to bail if I see the table change or if some shark like felicialee sits down.

the variance depends if you play limit or pot limit and what stackes i would say a downswing in limit of 50bb is normal anything above is bad play or cold deck in pot limit things change i would say if you get a cold deck and a little of unlucky you can have a downswing or variance of 100bb and more in one sesiion multitabling 4 or more tables but in general the swings are way lower in 5 card draw then in nl holdem or any other poker game ,if you play a solid 5 card draw game reraise when you are ahead and fold if you sense you are behind you should have no problem to make a livin of 5 card draw just watch out for the regulars they just wait for people like you who tilt after a cooler and they exploit you so i would suggest start by knowing against who you playing at your table and try to learn they patters and you will become a solid player in 5cd

Really? And what games have lower variance than limit high
only draw (that's what the OP is about).

You're badly mistaken if you think that limit draw does not
have a low variance relative to other forms of poker. It
clearly has lower variance than LHE, limit Omaha, LO8 and
limit 7stud, not to mention (limit) TDL.

You probably haven't played much of LHE, Omaha or 7stud.

In my entire history of multitabling Paradise draw, I've had
exactly TWO days where I had lost more than 30 big bets. I
had another day where I lost with five trips in a row (some
dealt, some made drawing three to a pair) and on that day,
I didn't even lose 30 big bets. Well, 30 big bets isn't a
lot, but it definitely IS a lot on limit draw.

If you've had days where you've lost more than 30 big bets
in draw, you should also have many days where you are up
more than 50 big bets as well (I've had many) and days where
you are up more than 100 big bets (I've had between ten and
twenty).

There are two things you can do to find out if your result
was due mostly to cards or play: 1) play a lot to find out
if you are a significant winner - it could be that you are
only a small winner in the game; or 2) have an excellent
player look through your HHs to see what major leaks you may
have in your game.

In my experience, standard deviation of profit (or loss) in low limit 5 card draw is somewhere around 10bb per 100 hands.
