Default Getting Staked

Been playin rather well recently in local Brick and mortar tourneys and had a couple of friends willing to split the entry into larger events. My question is this, if he pays half the entry does he deserve half the winnings? Thats of course if I place. Looking for repsonses from those that do get stacked for tourneys. Thanks!

The "standard" arrangement:

They provide all the buyin
You provide all the time
Taxes are split
Other expenses are negotiable

For a case where they pay just half the entry, i'd give them half of half.

Another way to look at it is if you are winning 100% ROI, and you would normally give them 50% in return for entry tickets instead give them 25% to reflect their halved investment.

These types of agreements are terrible for the staker when dealing with all but the best players.

He deserves no more than half and no less than 25%. The better you think you are, the smaller his share should be.

I may go for that if someone sponsors me and takes care of my stay, travel .... then if I win they get 50%.

Is anyone interested in staking me?

Sure. You put in all the money up front. I'll give you 50% and put you up in a hotel room one night for every WSOP event you play.

This is how I've always handled 'staking':

If the staker provides the full buy-in then he is entitled to recieve the buy-in back plus 35-40% of any winnings.

That may not be the ideal case for some but I was just simply providing an example.

30-35% to the player AFTER MAKE-UP is pretty standard for a new player and a new backing agreement. More than 50% after make-up is never heard of.
