Re: Movies You Like Nobody Believes Are Good
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] And while I'm at it, I of course have to mention "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", even though it's a series and not a movie [/ QUOTE ] It's a movie, too. -McGee [/ QUOTE ] I doubt that anyone who has uttered "I like Buffy the Vampire Slayer" has ever been referring to the movie. Despite being written (inexplicably) by Joss Whedon, it isn't even a part of the Buffy canon. |

Re: Movies You Like Nobody Believes Are Good
Do I get to say I'm special if I actually saw Buffy the movie in the theatres and have never watched more than a few minutes of the series?

I remember liking it, but I was like 12 when it came out (1992) -- I don't remember much about it. Like suzzer, I never watched the series. -McGee |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] And while I'm at it, I of course have to mention "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", even though it's a series and not a movie [/ QUOTE ] Come on, everyone knows Buffy is the nuts. [/ QUOTE ] Actually, I've heard several people say that they haven't given the show a chance due to the lame name. I must admit to being a bit turned off by it myself, I thought it was something else entirely just by watching a random (one of the lame) episodes on TV and not giving it another chance until much later. [/ QUOTE ] yeah, I cant even count how many people have made fun of me for owning them yet have never even seen a single episode. And many of those people eventually ended up begging me to let them borrow the DVDs because they got hooked, and it ends up being their favorite show. |

Re: Movies You Like Nobody Believes Are Good
I have to say Shakes the Clown. So many people are turned off just by the title (and Bobcat Goldthwait).
Also, Remo Williams, but somebody else already mentioned it. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Groundhog Day?!?!?! Road House??!?! Rocky IV?!?!?! Wow. People really really suck at this thread. [/ QUOTE ]QFT. Is there anyone who doesn't like those three movies and isn't a communist teetotaling weatherman? [/ QUOTE ] Rocky IV is not a good movie. I'm not a communist. [/ QUOTE ]But you are a weatherman who doesn't drink. Therefore, I discount your outs/opinions appropriately. [/ QUOTE ] I'm not a weatherman, but I have a friend who is. I also don't drink, so I'll give it to you. |

[ QUOTE ] Black Snake Moan - if this is still in theaters where you are, go see this. It looks terrible, but is, in fact, pretty fricking awesome...it's a drama, though...no actual black snakes. [/ QUOTE ]What looks terrible about it? This movie is all kinds of awesome, especially if one likes blues music (Sam Jackson pulls off a pretty mean R.L. Burnside, it must be said). [/ QUOTE ] Tell that to everyone, literally EVERYONE, I've told about this movie. The best reaction I've gotten so far is lukewarm. |

I have to say Shakes the Clown. [/ QUOTE ] I didn't like it all that much, althought it has arguably the funniest line/delivery in movie history. The black-woman-clown in the bar watching the clown on TV when she says "Once they turn off that camera, he gonna [censored] that little dog." The killed me. |
